Obituary of Joseph "Joe" Greto

Joseph William Greto of Satellite Beach, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024, in Rockledge, Florida at the age of 80. Joe, the son of Anthony Greto and Marjorie Burch, was born on July 24, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York.

Joe's life was marked by a dedication to his family. He graduated from Mepham High School in Bellmore, New York, and began his career at Grumman in Bethpage, eventually relocating to Florida to work on the Apollo program. His proudest achievement was having his name associated with the historic lunar endeavor as well as having his name on the moon.

Later in his career, Joe became a purchasing agent for MC Assembly. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Joe was known for his active lifestyle and diverse interests. He found joy in coaching his children in soccer, softball, and baseball, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. Joe loved to travel to destinations involving his family history. A skilled craftsman, Joe crafted beautiful furniture, cabinets and toys, enriching the lives of his grandchildren. He also enjoyed golfing, gardening and tinkering with cars.

Joe's devotion to his family was unparalleled, and he leaves behind cherished memories for his beloved wife of 58 years, Maureen, his daughter Deborah (Douglas) Tuttle, his sons Brian (Emily) Greto, and Jason (Josephine) Greto, as well as 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. His sister, Jayne, half-sister Cynthia, and half-brother Robert predeceased him.

The Greto family expresses their gratitude to the staff at Palm Cottages of Rockledge and Wuesthoff Hospice for their compassionate care during Joe's final days.

A funeral mass in honor of Joe's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, with a gathering at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Satellite Beach Fire Department at 1390 South Patrick Drive, Satellite Beach, FL 32937.

Joseph William Greto's legacy of love, dedication, and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
