Obituary of Jean Leslie Lott

Jean Leslie Lott of Palm Bay Florida, passed away on November 13, 2023 at the age of 91. Jean was a devoted wife for 70 years to her husband Willis and a mother to six children which they raised together in Ashland New Hampshire.  Originally born in Providence Rhode Island, Jean moved to New Hampshire in her teen years, graduating from Plymouth High School and working in a local department store where she met Willis  whom she married in 1950.  They joked that they lived the song made famous by Bing Cosby “I found a million dollar baby in a five and ten cent store”.

Jean's legacy of commitment to family is carried on with her three sons and three daughters along with their spouses and children: Brian Lott (with spouse Margaret Lott), Christine Andrews (with spouse Lennie Andrews), Sharon Lott, Janet Tapply, Bradley Lott, and Barry Lott (with spouse Denise Paquette Boots). Jean was also a loving and cherished grandmother to 16 children and an additional 9 great grandchildren.  Family was the center of Jean's life, and she consistently demonstrated the values of unconditional love, caring for one another, devotion to her family and respect for others in her daily life.  She was a homemaker who also worked various jobs, with perhaps her favorite job working at Annalee Dolls in Meredith NH.  Many of her family and friends have dolls that Jean gifted them over the years.  She was also a fierce patriot, supporting her husband and honoring his service during World War II including attending numerous USS Wasp reunions.

After raising their family, Jean and Willis retired from New Hampshire in the late 1980s and resettled in the Space Coast region of Florida.  For many years, they were active in their community, where they could be found participating in shuffle board, doing work around their residence, and engaging with their neighbors. Jean also enjoyed playing in the Christmas show musical each year.  They enjoyed many visits with friends and family and continued to travel well into their 80s eventually traveling to all 50 states and four continents where they explored a number of countries.  In recent years, Jean and Willis moved in with their oldest son Brian and his wife Meg, with Willis passing in January 2021.

A celebration of Jean's life is planned for the late summer of 2024 in Wentworth NH, where friends and family will gather to honor and remember this remarkable woman who touched so many lives with her warmth and devotion. May she rest in peace, now joined with her loving husband for eternity.
