Obituary of Lydia Maria Frame

Lydia Maria “Herma '' Frame was a caring wife, daughter, sister, stepmom, grandmother, aunt, godmother, cousin, and friend. She passed away peacefully on May 11, 2023, at age 66.

She was born to Aldo and Miriam Lopez on October 10, 1956, in Cienfuegos, Cuba. In 1970, at the age of 14, Lydia and her family fled their beloved homeland in search of a new life in the United States. After graduating from Miami Senior High School, Lydia enrolled at Miami Dade College to study banking and financial management. She enjoyed a long and prosperous career in the banking industry, which includes her time with the Bank of Miami, Bank of Boston, and First Union.

She was preceded in death by her dear father, Aldo Lopez in 1990, and her husband, Alan “Al” Frame in 2007. Lydia and Al married on September 11, 1998. They lived happily with their dog, Roscoe, for many years in North Carolina. Lydia and Al enjoyed the simple things in life, such as watching movies, taking Roscoe for walks, dining out or staying in and ordering pizza, going to the park, and spending time with friends. They were kindred spirits, sharing the same loving and generous heart.

Lydia’s vivacious personality and genuine interest and concern for others always made people around her feel valued, welcomed, and loved. Her infectious smile and cheerful spirit naturally drew people to her. She cherished her friendships and embraced every moment spent with them. Her friends quickly became her family. There is nothing Lydia would not do for those who are truly her friends. She loved her role as aunt (Tita), always finding ways to spoil her nieces and nephews, infusing her joyous, nurturing, and playful energy into their lives. While she did not have biological children, in the words of her nephew, Alan, “We were all Tita’s kids.”

Lydia’s impact will be forever felt by all who love her dearly. She was a selfless person whose passing leaves an unfillable gap in the hearts of her loved ones. Her ability to sacrifice, provide, support, and love will be forever ingrained in the lives of everyone who knew her. She leaves behind her mother, Miriam Lopez, her siblings, Aldo Lopez, Ana Lopez (Jorge Lopez), and Alex Lopez (Isabel Lopez); her stepson, Jason Frame (Laura Frame); her granddaughter, Alana Frame; her godchildren, Marra Rodriguez (Julio Rodriguez), Zulie Rodriguez, Alan Lopez, and Jorge “Titin” Lopez, as well as beloved aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many assorted family and dear friends.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 9:30 AM, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 11691 NW 25th St, Doral, FL 33172. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery, 11411 NW 25th St, Doral, FL 33172.
