Anne Fay Casey Trabold

Obituary of Anne Fay Casey Trabold

Anne Fay Casey Trabold passed away on January 13, 2023, in Melbourne, Florida, three days before her 87th birthday. She was born in Kirksville, Missouri, to Dr. Vincent L. Casey and Anna Moore Casey, and grew up in Endicott, NY. She was the eldest of the five “Casey girls.”

An alumna of Union-Endicott High School, Anne graduated from Syracuse University in 1957. Her studies included a junior year abroad where she perfected her French at the Sorbonne University in Paris. She taught French at several districts in the Rochester and Syracuse areas before taking time off to raise her family, but returned to the classroom at Cato-Meridian school district, a community she cherished, to finish her teaching career before moving to the Space Coast region of Florida in 1998.

Anne was a traveler, a Girl Scout leader, a neighbor, a friend, a mom, a sister, an organizer, a decorator, a good cook, a baker of chocolate chip cookies, a maker of homemade grape jelly, a swim team mom, a room mother, an avid reader, a thrifty shopper before extreme couponing was a thing, and a firm believer in buying items of timeless quality. She loved her beautiful furniture and tapestries but hated raw onions and anything in the cabbage family.

During retirement, Anne took many cruises with her husband and loved spending time with her three children and five grandchildren. She connected with the Melbourne community as a member and leader of several organizations including the Genealogical Society of South Brevard, the French-Canadian Heritage Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution, Rufus Fairbanks chapter. She thrived on researching the genealogy of the Casey and Trabold families.

Anne is survived by three children, daughter Monica A. Trabold and son-in-law Greg Miner of Albany, NY; daughter Mary C. Trabold of Denver, CO; son Peter A. Trabold and daughter-in-law Dawn Dolan of North Tonawanda, NY; grandchildren Evan Miner, Carolyn Miner, Meredith Miner, Griffin Trabold and Lyla Trabold; and her four younger sisters, Patricia (David) Bollinger, Bibba Spencer, Kathy (Bob) Smith and Margy (Artie) Lynnworth, and many nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Peter E. Trabold.

A funeral mass will take place at the Parish of the Holy Family, 4100 Lyell Rd., Rochester, NY 14606, on June 26th at 11am followed by interment and reception.

The family would like to thank Anne’s caregivers at Hibiscus Court Assisted Living and the Sea Turtle Team of Saint Francis Reflections Lifestage Care for the loving care she received at the end of her life. For those interested and able, in lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to St. Francis Reflections Melbourne Care Center, 250 N Wickham Rd, Melbourne, FL 32935 or https://reflectionslsc.org/donate/
