Obituary of Mary Margaret Chamberland

In Commemoration of Mary Margaret (Hourihan) Chamberland, ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA — Mary Chamberland, 87, of Rockledge FL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Melbourne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on Dec 3, 1935, in Millis Massachusetts to Daniel and Rose (Roy) Hourihan of Uxbridge, Massachusetts. She graduated from Uxbridge High School in 1954. Mary wed the love of her life, Albert Norman Chamberland on October 29, 1955, in Uxbridge, Mass. She worked at Emmott Valley Transportation Co. in finance, at the historic Waucantuck Mill as a loom operator, at Beneficial Finance and at Greenleaf Finance as an Administrative Assistant, and other part-time employment opportunities. She loved being with her family, friends, knitting, and camping. Although she lived most of her life in Mendon, Mass., Mary and Al sought out a warmer climate and moved to Rockledge, Florida in 2014.

Mary is survived by her son Dr. Kenneth J. Chamberland Sr. and his wife Elizabeth, son Carl R. Chamberland, daughter Ms. Tina L. (Chamberland) Ames, and daughter-in-law Karen Chamberland along with 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Albert Sr. and son Albert Jr. in 2017. An interment of ashes will be conducted at the St. Mary's Cemetery, Uxbridge Mass. on March 11, 2023.
