Obituary of Thomas J. Healey

Thomas J. Healey "Tom", "Papa", 93 years old< of Melbourne, FL, passed away on August 12th, 2022 in Brevard County. He passed peacefully surrounded by love and family.

Thomas was born in Brooklyn, NY to Thoams Leander Healey and Dorothy Rose Fitzsimmons on February 17, 1929. Thomas joined the U.S. Navy in 1946 serving on vessels, USS Torsk and the USS Bowfin during the Korean War. Upon returning he completed his AA. His career involved Aerospace technologies until he retired in 1989. Thomas hada love of water, boating, diving, fishing, and woodworking. Thomas was proud of his sobriety of 43 years being very active in Alcoholic Anonymous. He had a strong faith in God serving as a missionary to Russia, Turkey, and South America.

He is survived by his sister Dorothy Simerka; step daughters Luisa Noble, Renee Davis, and Tina Mooney; and most importantly his 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister Marie Montagmino, brother Robert Healey, his sons Kevin & Geoffrey Healey, and the love of his life Gloria Healey.

Funeral service will be held at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory St, Melbourne, FL on Saturday, September 3, 2022. Visitation will begin at 2 P.M. with the service at 2:30 P.M. 

Memorial donations may be made to CITA Rescue Mission, 2330 Johnny Ellison Dr., Melbourne, FL 32901. 

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to CITA Rescue Mission for their continues service to Brevard County.
