Obituary of Patricia Ferrer

On Tuesday, June 21, 2022, Patricia “Patty” Ferrer died in Palm Bay, Florida. She was 66 years old. Patty is survived by her husband, Tony, children, Christina (Kris) and Tony (Lindsay), her grandchildren, Zoe, Lulu, and Lucas, and brother, Charlie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Genaro and Marta, and her brother, Alex.

Patty was born in Havana, Cuba and grew up in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Assumption Catholic High School in 1974. After graduating, she married her high school sweetheart, Tony, and moved to New Mexico where he was stationed in the US Air Force. Here, they had their first child, Christina. A few years later, they settled down in Palm Bay, Florida and had their second child, Tony.

Patty was very creative and loved to do all kinds of projects from painting and sewing to woodworking and flower arranging. She was always brightening someone’s day with her artistic talents. She was a dedicated member of Brevard County Schools for over 25 years. In the Lockmar Elementary community, she was well known as a volunteer, substitute teacher, teacher assistant, and ESL assistant instructor. In 1998, she was awarded Employee of the Year. She also shared her time and artistic talents with the Flower Ministry at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for many years. Her most favorite pastime was enjoying time with her beloved grandchildren. As a Nana, she had a lot of fun doing art projects, playing restaurant, and blowing bubbles with them. Nana was well known as the “Queen of Kindness.”

A funeral mass for Patty is scheduled for 1:00PM, Thursday June 30, 2022, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church 300 Malabar Rd. Palm Bay, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Our Lady of Grace Flower Ministry or the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation www.pkdcure.org
