Ima Pastula PhD

Obituary of Ima Jean Pastula PhD

Ima wrote the final chapter in the story of her full and extraordinary mortal life April 2nd, 2022.

Born February 28th, 1934 in Brilliant, Alabama, Ima enjoyed a full life of family, travel, and artistic talent. She became an accomplished artist in the style of the Old Masters, a technique she perfected while traveling extensively in Europe as a military spouse. Upon retiring and moving to Viera, Florida in 1996, she continued her artistic work but also pursued another passion, writing.

She created many books and short stories as a member of both the Space Coast Writers Group and the Cape Canaveral Pen Women, where she held offices of President, Vice President, and Secretary.

She will be remembered for her considerable talents and creativity, but mostly her imagination, mischievous sense of humor and her love of family.

Preceded in death by her husband Joseph, Ima will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery to join him in eternal rest. This will be at a later date, to be determined.

Ima leaves behind two sons; John (Lynn) Pastula of Melbourne, FL, Jody (Melinda) Pastula of Peoria, AZ, grandchildren; Tara (Jason) Downs of Melbourne, Fl, Jonathan Pastula of Melbourne, FL, Erin Pastula of Phoenix, AZ, Sarah (Nick) Grams of Phoenix, AZ, and great-grandchildren; Dylan, Cora, and Hannah, all of Melbourne, FL

In lieu of flowers or gifts, it is requested that donations be made in honor of Ima to the scholarship fund of the Cape Canaveral Pen Women, c/o Pam Webb, PO Box 372129, Satellite Beach, FL 32937.

A special thanks to the staff of the Dr, Jey Pillai Center for Hospice Care in Rockledge, FL for making Ima’s last days comfortable and peaceful.
