Obituary of Karin Bespolka

Karin Bespolka (nee Lohrbauer) died peacefully in Melbourne, Florida on February 20, 2017 at the age of 85. She is survived by sons Carl and his wife Rosamond of Valhalla, NY; Kevin and his wife Corinne of Winchester, England; and Lars and his wife Jacqueline of Berlin, Germany; 4 granddaughters, Olivia, Megan, Sienna and Aurora; and 3 grandsons, Carl, Nicholas and Nils. In addition to her husband Wasel (Bill), she was predeceased by her grandson Cameron. Karin was born on February 26, 1931 in Oslo, Norway to Carl Turolf and Olivia Marie Gedde Lohrbauer. She was educated in Norway, France and England. Her work for a Norwegian shipping company took her to Jerusalem where she met and, in 1960, married her husband Bill. After moving to New York in 1961 and welcoming three boys into the world, the family moved to Vienna, Austria where she then worked for The United Nations and The Institute of European Studies. Karin and Bill moved to Italy in the 1980’s before retiring to Boston and New Hampshire and eventually Melbourne, Florida – where she enjoyed life for many years Karin was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading, sudoku, tennis and golf and traveled all over the world. But she was never happier than when welcoming her grandchildren into her home! A memorial is scheduled at 2 pm on February 26, 2017 at Buena Vida, Melbourne, Florida.
