Obituary of Clarence O’Neal Young

Clarence O’Neal Young, 79, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015. He was born April 22, 1935 in Tampa, FL to the late Curtis and Thelma Young. He graduated from Middleton high School in Tampa. He enlisted in the US Army and served his country as a paratrooper. Upon being honorably discharged he re-enlisted in the US Air Force and served in the para-rescue service. He received numerous awards and distinguished service medals. He retired after over 20 years of service. After his retirement he was employed by the Marine Divison of the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department and served the people of Ft. Lauderdale until his retirement. He enjoyed sitting outside the entrance to his home garage in the morning, greeting and sharing experiences with his neighbors in the Misty Creek Community of Brevard County. He is survived buy his wife, Barbara Young; daughter and son in law Lisa Marie and Charles Lee Willis; granddaughter Madison Marie; brother, Curtis Amos Young; brothers in law Benjamin Calvin Harris and Edward L. Howlette Sr.; a nephew, Mark Young; a niece, Tammi Lambert and numerous cousins throughout the country. Those who knew Clarence are welcome to join his family in celebrating his life at a memorial service on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Life Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US 1, Rockledge.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sioux Nation Relief Fund, PO Box 5092, Sioux Falls, SD 57117.
