Obituary of Betty Ruth Buckner

Betty Ruth Mauldin Buckner of Merritt Island, Florida, formerly of Scottsboro, Alabama peacefully passed away on May 12, 2015 at the Norwood Assisted Living Facility. Betty was born in Greenville, South Carolina to Ethel Ward Mauldin and Claude Payne Mauldin, Sr. in 1934.She grew up a Lint-head from the Monaghan Mill village and graduated from Parker High School. She worked for the Visiting Nurses Association and Traveler+óGé¼Gäós Aid. She married a fellow Lint-head from the Dunean Mill village & the love of her life Mack Ray Buckner in September of 1956. Together they embarked upon a joyous marriage of 55+ years before his passing last year. In her devoted role as a very enthusiastic +óGé¼+ôstay at home Mom+óGé¼-¥, she focused on successfully raising their three children while providing each of them with many wonderful childhood memories. Specific areas of emphasis throughout her life included, but were not limited to joyous laughter, a love of music, and the Atlanta Braves She is survived by daughter, Elaine and CJ Smith of Merritt Island, daughter Linda and Bruce Ingram of Gold Canyon, Arizona, son Charlie and Becky Buckner of Auburn, Alabama. She cherished her time with &, was very proud of her five grandchildren, Jonathan and Zac Moore of Orlando, Florida, Laura Ingram of Mesa, Arizona and Forrest and Ashley Buckner of Auburn, Alabama. Also saddened by her passing are her sister in law, Shirley Irvin and her husband Bill of Easley, South Carolina, two nephews, Robbie Robertson of Greenville, South Carolina and Michael Robertson of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care,1001 Hickory Street Melbourne Florida on Saturday May 16 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, FloridaDonations may be made in her memory to Hospice of St. Francis Titusville, FL.
