Obituary of Clara Mae Curtin

Clara Mae was a remarkable woman with a beautiful soul that radiated like a ray of sunshine externally. Clara was born in San Antonio, TX on January 19th, 1932 and passed on to her ultimate destination in heaven on January 26th, 2018. She passed peacefully in her home in Satellite Beach, with the love of her life Henry, and her youngest son Paul. Clara and Henry were soul mates and were married for 65 years. She was 86 years old and received her favorite gift of all when her first great grandchild Jack was born on December 2nd. Clara grew up in San Antonio, went to business college, and then went on to travel the world being the wife of Henry, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force. She was an extremely proud mother of three sons and two daughters. Tony (Henry Junior), Jeffery, Cynthia, Dianne and Paul kept her busy, yet she still found time to volunteer and work for various organizations. With her stunning beauty that never faded, she was a model. Henry’s favorite photograph of Clara was in her Red Cross uniform when she volunteered while living in Guam. She was also an active member of The Officer’s Wives’ Club at Patrick Air Force Base and held office as the Parliamentarian. Clara was a member of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra for 20 years, and a member of the prestigious women of Melbourne’s Steel Magnolia group. In addition to volunteering and raising five children, Clara was a wonderful wife and worked outside of the home. She received recognition from the Brevard County School District for twenty-two years of service. She worked as a physical education assistant at Roy Allen elementary and at Satellite High School in the attendance office, copy room and library. Her nickname was “Dean of The Machine” in the business office. Clara was extremely passionate about her family and her involvement in the community. Anyone who had the blessing of knowing Clara, viewed her as a wonderful woman with warmth and Charisma. She was a pillar of strength that endured many losses and continued to remain positive with a smile on her face. She inspired all the lives she touched. She never lost her zest for life even after losing her daughter Cindy and son Jeff. She continued to graciously live her life and stay strong for Henry, her sons Tony and Paul, and daughter Dianne. Clara’s beauty will live on through her children, grandchildren and throughout generations to come. She will be dearly missed by her surviving family:Her husband Henry, son Tony and his wife Jeanie, (their son Todd and wife Maria along with their son baby Jack, and son Brian and his wife Ashley), daughter Dianne and her husband Michael, son Paul (his daughters Kellie and Kaitlyn), son-in-law Julian and husband of Cindy’s of twenty-five years (their daughter Cristina and her husband Stefan, and daughter Ashlinn), *There will be a Celebration of Life in honor Clara in mid-March. **In lieu of flowers we would like to honor her life with donations made to The American Heart Association May your lives be deeply enriched by the love you received knowing our beloved Clara Mae Curtin!!
