Obituary of Robin Keith Elkins

Robin Keith Elkins, 62, passed away on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017 peacefully at his home. Born in Philadelphia, PA he is survived by his two children Robert Elkins and Dawn Durning… whom he loved very much and two loving sisters and past wife and dear friend Cynthia. A prolific inventor, scientist, engineer and award winning photographer, Rob was founder and proprietor of Elk industries. He was a true pioneer and inventor in the voice mail and laser fields. Having been educated at MIT he went on to lecture and speak at various conventions and institutions. He also performed laser light shows on Earth Day and other festivities. He has been published in several technology magazines as well as newspapers. He currently has outstanding patents in the technology field. Rob honored and loved the ocean, beach and nature as well as his family and friends. He had a huge heart, sweet spirit and treasured family and friends. He loved swimming in the ocean, fishing, body surfing and earlier in life biking and scuba diving. Everything he did and all of his work, inventions and projects were to make the earth a better place and to help people any way that he could and to preserve our precious energy. He will surely be missed in the community of Melbourne and beyond. A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 12 – 2 pm at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory St, Melbourne, FL 32901.
