Obituary of Norman C. Tucker

Norman C. Tucker of Melbourne, Florida passed away at age 87 on March 29, 2017 of congestive heart failure. He is survived by his wife Janet, 4 children, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Born in Auburn, New York April 7, 1929 to John and Ruth Tucker and grew up in Skaneateles. He served four years in the US Air Force and continued his interesting travels with a life-long career with RCA, first as an instructor and later as a site manager. His assignments included Pretoria, South Africa; Ascension Island; Eleuthera, San Salvador and Andros Island, Bahamas; King Salmon and Cape Lisburne, Alaska; Puerto Rico, Patrick AFB and Cape Canaveral.  He was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing cards with his buddies, boating and his journeys as captain aboard the Nip n’ Tuck. Upon retirement from RCA he joined his wife Janet in the daily operation of Sun Rose Gifts and Crown Collectibles, their stores in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.  After his second retirement, he spent over 15 years delivering meals and smiles several days a week for Meals and Wheels, something he thoroughly enjoyed. Norm’s generosity and kindness will always be cherished. Memorial Donations may be made to Meals on Wheels/Aging Matters Brevard or the Humane Society.
