Obituary of Thomas E. Newman

Thomas E. Newman, age 74, left this earth on March 25, 2017 to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He passed away at Palm Bay Community Hospital after a long illness, with his wife Pam by his side.  Born in Roanoke, VA., Tom was the son of the late Joseph Edward Newman and the late Lucy Alma Bell Newman.  He is survived by his wife Pam of 24 years, daughter Neilly Snyder (husband David) of Plymouth, MN., step-daughters Stephanie Vaught (husband David) of Apollo Beach, FL., Michelle Johnson (husband Philip) of Stoughton, MA., step-son Stephen Daniel of Indian Harbor Beach, FL., 4 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 1 great-granddaughter, 3 great-grandsons, and sister Carolyn "Sally" Guthrie (husband Tommy).  He is preceded in death by his grandson Tyler W. Vaught. Tom started his career as a radio producer in Roanoke, VA before moving to Raleigh, NC where he continued to be a radio producer, as well as a television producer.  After moving to Florida in 1999, he worked at WMEL radio until retiring.  Prior to his illness, Tom could usually be found on a golf course in his spare time. He also enjoyed cooking and listening to most music, especially Big Band. Tom has attended Calvary Chapel Melbourne since 2007. There will be a memorial service celebrating his life on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care in Palm Bay.
