Obituary of Richard Riley Stone

Richard Riley Stone, 71, of Palm Bay, Florida passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 after a brief illness. Richard was born in Kissimmee, Florida to Kenneth R. Stone and Helen R. Stone on December 10, 1945. Richard graduated from Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Florida. He attended Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida In August 1965 he married the love of his life Jacqueline Lee Hollenbeck. This year they celebrated their 50 year anniversary together. They had two beautiful children, Patricia Ruth and Teresa Marie. He worked very hard and was a wonderful provider for his family. He was a fine husband, father, and a doting grandfather. Richard began his career in the newspaper business with a simple paper route. He worked his way up to various management positions. He was an original founder that created the then new USA Today Newspaper in Nashville, Tennessee. He was applauded by all of his accomplishments. He was promoted to President and Publisher of the Times Newspaper in Shreveport, Louisiana. Richard retired to Florida after a 30 year distinguished career in the Newspaper business. Richard was a devoted Jehovah Witness. Richard enjoyed fishing with his brother-in-law Denny Hollenbeck. He never turned down a day of shopping. He loved spending time with friends, family and extended family. He enjoyed being helpful to others and lived a life with a high regard of morals and principles. Richard is survived by his wife Jacqueline Lee Stone of Palm Bay, Florida, his daughter Teresa Marie Perry of Portland, Tennessee and his grandchildren; Victoria Perry, Kyle Perry, Ella Hammock, and his sister Wanda Stone. Richard was predeceased in death by his parents Kenneth Riley Stone and Helen Ruth Stone, and daughter Patricia Ruth Hammock. A service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the North/Palm Bay Kingdom Hall at 1990 Fallon Boulevard N.E., Palm Bay, Florida 32907.
