Obituary of Kenneth Guy McCallister

Kenneth Guy McCallister, Jr., passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2014 at home surrounded by his family. Mr. McCallister was born in Logan, WV, February 15, 1930 to Kenneth and Gladys McCallister. He and his wife, Betty moved to Titusville in 1959. He was a member of the United States Air Force, a long-time member of Indian River City United Methodist Church, a member of the Elks Club, the Titusville Antique and Classic Auto Club, and the Jess Parrish GÇ£Fitness ClubGÇ¥. He has always had a love for cars (the older the better) and was a high school auto mechanics teacher at Titusville High School for 17 years where he was known as GÇ£MacGÇ¥. Many of his former students credit him with helping them find their vocation. He also loved any kind of dancing and was very good at it. He enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, watching the sun set on South Lake with Betty, tinkering with his cars, visiting with his grandchildren, and joking with his friends and family. Mr. McCallister is survived by his wife, Betty; son Scott (wife Beth) of Green Cove Springs, FL; sister Carol Salvati of Raleigh, NC; brother David McCallister (wife Marti) of Penhook, VA; grandchildren Lindsey McCallister, Ryan McCallister, Michael McCallister, and Kellie McCallister. He was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Guy McCallister III. Services will be held on Saturday, February 15 at Indian River City United Methodist Church, 1355 Cheney Highway, Titusville, Florida, 32780. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by a celebration of KennethGÇÖs life at 2 p.m.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Indian River City United Methodist Church Library Fund, 1355 Cheney Highway, Titusville, FL 32780.
