Obituary of Chester B. Mackiewicz

Chester B. Mackiewicz, 85, beloved husband of Margaret Cesanek Mackiewicz, died peacefully June 19, 2015 at Viera Hospital, Florida surrounded by his loving family.+é-á Chester was born on March 10, 1930, in New Britain, Ct to Teofil and Stella Mackiewicz. He attended New Britain High School. He met and fell in love with Margaret in 1949, who would become his wife of 62 wonderful years, truly the love of his life. They built their life together after his return from the Korean Conflict were he served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. They lived together in New Britain, Ct before moving to Bristol, Ct+é-á where they were blessed with four children.+é-á Chester retired from Carpenter Construction in 2002. He moved with Margaret to Rockledge Florida where they met great friends. He was a devout Roman Catholic and attended church regularly.+é-á In addition to his loving wife Margaret, he leaves behind his four children, Diane and her husband Austin DellaVecchia, Gary Mackiewicz and his wife Patti, Nancy and her husband Marco Conrod, and Paula and her husband Tom Ryan. He also leaves his ten adoring grandchildren, Lidia, Gary, Trey, Kelly, Tommy, Mark, David, Stephen, John and Kevin. Chet also had great love, pride and joy for his four great grandchildren, Damian, Parker, Kinsley and the newest addition Leona. He is also survived by his three brothers, Henry, Edward and Walter.+é-á Chester+óGé¼Gäós great sense of+é-á humor and loving smile was a gift to all who knew him. He took great pride and+é-á spent many happy hours manicuring his legendary lawn. He was a loving and respectful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be sadly missed by everyone who was blessed to know him. We will forever cherish his life, the memories and the legacy he leaves behind.+é-á A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday June 27th 2015, 11:00 am at St. Mary+óGé¼Gäós Catholic Church, Rockledge, Florida.
