Obituary of Domenic A. DeMunda

Domenic A. DeMunda, 91, of Barefoot Bay, FLA and Bantam Lake, CT passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at the Holmes Regional Medical Center.  He was born in Waterbury, CT to Thomas and Angelina DeMunda. Dom was predeceased by his wife, of 64 years, Grace and his brother John (Willie) DeMunda. Dom was a passionate man who enjoyed boating and traveled extensively with his wife.   He worked as a Professional Dry Cleaner as Owner Operator of Perry’s Dry Cleaner’s.  Dom was a graduate of Wilby High School and NY School of Dry-Cleaning.   Dom served in the Army Airforce in Guam, 1944-1945 as an Aircraft Dispatcher.  He was also committed to the community and served as President of The Dry Cleaning Guild and Past Commodore of the Barefoot Bay Yacht Club. He was active in the Barefoot Bay Computer Club, Sebastian Italian American Club and a communicant of St Luke’s Catholic Church and volunteered in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Dom is lovingly remembered by his son, Thomas DeMunda, wife Debbie, daughter, Judy Dukas, husband Chuck and daughter Grace McGrath.  He leaves his sister-in-law Gloria DeMunda, brother and sister-in law Joseph & Sandy Longo, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
