Obituary of Alice Joyce Newman

Joyce Newman went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.  Born on March 15, 1931, Joyce spent her early years in Huntingdon, PA and later attended high school in the Wilkinsburg/Pittsburg area.  After graduating from high school, she moved to Washington D.C. where she met her husband of 53 years, Jack Newman.  Jack and Joyce married in 1963 and relocated to FL in 1966.  They lived in Homestead, FL for 27 years before settling in Palm Bay in 1994. Joyce was a valued employee of Community Bank of Homestead for 20 years, serving as Secretary to the President.  In addition to being a talented pianist, she was a dedicated volunteer at William Childs Hospice House for many years and enjoyed maintaining a healthy lifestyle with her friends at Curves.  A strong Christ-follower, Joyce was a faithful member of the church, most recently at Palm Bay Baptist Church. Joyce is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Jack Newman as well as cousins Tom (Jackie) DeArmitt, Marv (Pat) DeArmitt, David (Donna) Neal, Dale (Linda) Neal and numerous nieces and nephews.  On her husband's side, she will also be greatly missed by sisters-in-law Wynette Eggler and Dolores (Bob) Pike; nephew Ray Eggler and nieces Karen (Bill) Fiorillo, Jennifer (Jan) Lemieux and their son, Declan and Michelle (Bob) Oakes and their daughter, Meghan.  Joyce will also be missed by many cherished friends. A public viewing will be on April 29th from 4 – 5 p.m. with service to follow at 5 p.m. at Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care, 950 Malabar Road, SE, Palm Bay, FL 724 -2224.
