Obituary of Bernhardt W. Mangeng

Bernhardt W. Mangeng, Jr., passed away peacefully in his sleep April 30, 2015. He was born July 19th, 1918 in Philadelphia, PA. He has lived the last 28 years of his life in Florida loving every minute of it. He was a devoted surf fisherman. He especially loved fishing the surf of Melbourne Beach. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his two sons. Frieda E. Mangeng; his second wife Alice (Noel) Mangeng and his youngest son Craig A. Mangeng. He was also preceded by his brothers William Mangeng and Joseph Mangeng; and his sisters Blanche Montignoli and Miriam Port. He is survived by his oldest son Bernhardt W. Mangeng, III; grandson Craig A. Mangeng, granddaughter Bridget R. Thayer, eleven great grandchildren and four great great grand children. He was a World War II Navy veteran serving on the Navy Destroyer USS Rodgers DD-876 in the Pacific. Mr. Mangeng was a long time member of The Masonic Order of Free Masons, life time member of the VFW and a 10 year member of The Moose Lodge.
