Obituary of Clarence R. Stevens

Clarence R. +óGé¼+ôSteve+óGé¼-¥ Stevens, 90, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015. He was born March 23, 1925 to Wesley and Frances Stevens in Corning, NY. Steve served in the Medical Corps of the US Army in the Philippine Islands during WWII and was awarded several medals including a World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He played as a trombonist in General McArthur’s band and later formed his own dance band +óGé¼+ôEsquires+óGé¼-¥ in Corning, NY. In 1949, he married Gwendolyn Bistoff Stevens. Steve worked for Ingersoll-Rand Corporation for 37 years and retired as a Production Manager in the Air Power Division. He was a Melbourne resident since 1986. Steve is survived by his spouse Gwendolyn; his son Dr. Kurt Stevens; and his two grandchildren Kyle and Jennifer Stevens.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
