Obituary of Arthur R. Deane

Arthur R. Deane was born on May 28, 1941 in Hartford, Conneticut, and went home to be with his Lord, Jesus, on February 12, 2017. He passed away peacefully from earth to heaven with his wife of 26 years, Nancy, by his side at The Heart Center at Holmes Regional Hospital. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Jennifer Deane Heller of West Virginia; his grandson Robert Lustig of Armada, Michigan. Art was the oldest of four children of his mother, Janet Mansur.  His sisters are Pamela Joy Chester and her husband, Jim in Texas and Rebecca Reed Howard in Massachusetts.  Arthur was predeceased by his sister Genevieve Beth Deane Jacobs in Georgia. After graduating from Higgins Institute he joined the United States Air Force in 1960, after his 4 years of service and being stationed in Louisiana he moved to Florida. He attended and graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville with a degree in Journalism in 1969, Art was a “Gator” through and through, if possible he never missed a Gator football game. He met his wife Nancy in May of 1990, and they were married 3 months later on October 5, 1990 at the Tabernacle Church in Melbourne, Florida. They spent their first year of marriage “in prayer” at Shekinah Ministries in Blountville, Tennessee where Nancy had attended bible college. Art and Nancy returned to Melbourne, Florida where they lived for 25 years. In 2014 he became certified to teach Elementary Education in the public school system. He loved teaching his third grade students and they loved him. He was born to be a teacher of the bible and also school children. Arthur Deane is survived by his wife Nancy Anne Deane; daughter Jennifer Deane Heller (Joe); three stepchildren, Debi Ann Gambino, Denise Marie Marshall (Hank) and Ronald H. Sellers; five grandchildren Robert Lustig (Amber), Mary Ellen Aquilar (Coy), Ronald H. Sellers Jr, Ginny Marshall Gillespie and Jason Marshall; niece Sara Beth (Steve) Johnson; cousin Bea McGarvey of Galena, Maryland and cousins in Maine. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Victory Assembly Of God, 1800 Blaine St, Palm Bay Florida 32905. Refreshments following in the Fellowship Hall.
