Obituary of Gertrude Ann Cox

Gertrude Ann Cox, 76, from Melbourne, Florida died on January 8, 2016 at Holmes Regional Medical Center. Ann was born on October 22, 1939 in Heidelberg, Pennsylvania to Walter and Lucinda Tapper. Ann was an Air Force spouse and worked in Germany for the United States Air Force as a telephone operator. She also worked for the Harris Corporation for 20 years as a telephone operator. Ann was a past High Priestess of the AZAN Ladies of the Oriental Shrine, member of the Daughters of the Nile, member of numerous units within the AZAN Shrine, and she also was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved to travel and go on cruises with her husband. Ann is survived by her husband of 54 years James R. Cox; son James Ronald +óGé¼+ôRon+óGé¼-¥ Cox II; daughter Deborah Logsdon; four grandchildren Lynn, Nina, Nichole, and Steven; and brothers John and Robert. She is preceded by brothers Kenny and Walter. She was loved dearly by all and will be forever missed.Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne, 32901, 321-724-2222. Interment will be at 9:30 a.m. on January 29, 2016 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US Hwy 1 in Mims, FL.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Ann’s name, AZAN Shrine Center, 1591 West Eau Gallie Boulevard, Melbourne, FL 32935.
