Harold Cornell

Obituary of Harold Kenneth Cornell

Harold Kenneth Cornell, known to most as “Howie”, passed away peacefully at his home Easter morning, April 16, 2017. Harold was born on June 9th, 1941 to Frances & Charles Cornell in Brooklyn, N.Y. He worked most of his life as a Teamster truck driver and warehouseman. The labors of his life could be seen in the callouses and cracks of his hands, the same hands with which he would hold his grandchildren and play with his dogs. He loved his family with everything he was and would give them all he had. He never met a stranger and was loved and adored by many. He could always be found at the local diner or eatery talking and making people laugh. He liked to shoot pool and gamble, whether it be on the horses or scratch off tickets. His pick three number was “Tree Deuces”, as he would say in his gruff Brooklyn accent. He was preceded in death by his brothers Charles Cornell and Ronald Cornell. He is survived by his sister Rosemarie Cornell, wife of 53 years Carolyn Cornell, their daughter Lisa Bolling (daughter-in-law Sandra Bolling), sons Robert, Andrew, & John, grandchildren Kaitlyn Loper (Nick), Alexa Geist, & Grant Knauer, and many nieces & nephews. Harold served in the US Army and will be laid to rest at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida in August, 2017.
