Obituary of Alice M. Holder

Alice M. Holder, 83, of Melbourne, FL, passed away peacefully at Friends at Home ALF, lovingly cared for by VITAS Hospice Care on Sunday, January 3, 2016. Alice was born in Detroit, MI, in 1932 and was severely burned over 30% of her body at the tender age of 4. She underwent multiple surgeries and skin grafts throughout her lifetime but this tragedy and pain never slowed her zest for life or her love of people. In 1951, Alice enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Selfridge Air Force Base, MI. She fell in love with and married then MSgt. Paul Holder and was honorably discharged from active service in 1953. She supported her husband Paul throughout his years of military service and they were married for over 56 years until Paul+óGé¼Gäós death in 2009. Alice was a devoted wife and mother of her four children. Together with family and many friends, they shared many passions including travel, dancing, music and bowling. Alice loved singing and dancing and for several years was a performer for both the +óGé¼+ôGolden Steppers+óGé¼-¥ and +óGé¼+ôLip Tones+óGé¼-¥ of Melbourne. Alice is survived by her brother Clint Bostick and his wife Bobbie; sister Darlene; brother-in law Marty Korzeniowski (WWII Air Force Bombadier/Navigator); children, Judge Greg (Colonel, USAFR, Retired) and his wife Dee (LtCol, USAF, Retired), Linda and her husband Timm (Army Veteran), Ken (Navy Veteran) and his wife Jeanette, and Brenda and her husband Greg; six grandchildren, Amber, Timmy (Navy Veteran) and his wife Stephanie, Jon and his wife Toni, Jeff, Capt. Dan (USAF Pilot) and his wife Catherine, and Andrea; and six great-grandchildren.Her cremated remains will be interred at the Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell, FL, with military honors, on Friday, January 29, 2016, at 1:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Alice Holder+óGé¼Gäós name to VITAS Hospice, 4450 Eau Gallie Blvd., Suite 250, Melbourne, FL 32934.
