Obituary of Jeanne Marie Guzzi

Jeanne Marie Guzzi, 73 of Sebastian, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 19, 2014 surrounded by her son, daughter, sister and daughter-in-law at Sebastian River Medical Center. Born in Bay Shore, NY, Jeanne was the daughter of John and Alene McCann. She worked in several restaurants in the food service industry, including Tiffany’s Kitchen in Dublin, Ireland and was Assistant Manager of Friendly’s Restaurant in the Melbourne Square Mall in Melbourne. She most recently worked in the dietary department of ACTS Retirement Community in Vero Beach. In her retirement she was a volunteer at the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County and was an active member of the St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Jeanne was our heart, our soul, our rock. She was instantly liked by everyone she met and dearly loved by those who came to know her. She was a warm, loving and generous soul. A friend to everyone in her life and to strangers she met along the way. Among her dearest friends were her pet companions, Dylan and Jasper. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Patrick A. Smith of Easky, County Sligo, Ireland. After Patrick’s death she married Pasquale Guzzi of Sebastian and they were married for 14 years until his passing in 2008. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Osterloff of Pennsylvania, Sean P. Smith and wife, Heidi of Modesto, CA ; Michelle M. Arenth and husband, Paul of Huntington, NY, and Michael J. Smith and wife, Cindi of Ronkonkoma, NY; three grandchildren, Sarah, Connor and Ailish. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Oberholtzer of Vero Beach and brother, John McCann of Bay Shore, NY.
