Obituary of Walter “Bud” E. Gilbert

Bud Gilbert, 65, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Bud was born in Boston, Massachusetts and moved to Florida in 1966 with his parents and siblings. He moved his family to Palm Bay in 1987. A long time truck driver, his last position was driving cement mixers for Titan America for 25 years. Bud had many activities that he loved. He was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America with Troop 732, a bowler, a longtime fan of Nascar, a collector of model railroading and president of his RR club, and an avid Red Sox fan. Bud was a history buff with an insatiable thirst for learning about American history, especially the Civil War. Perhaps his greatest love was dressing up and playing GÇ£Santa GÇ£ for children during the Christmas season. Bud was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Christina, of 41 years; son, W. Edward Gilbert, III and his wife Agnes of Cumming, GA; son, James W. Gilbert and his wife Michelle of Palm Bay, FL; grandchildren, Sheryl, Marc, Konrad, Jay, and Liliana; father, Walter; mother, Mary and siblings, Ruth, Charlie and Cliff.There will be a public viewing at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 950 Malabar Road, SE, Palm Bay, 321-724-2224 on December 20th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m.Donations may be made to Troop 732 Gilbert, 1839 Glenridge Rd NW Palm Bay FL 32907.
