Obituary of John T. Williammee

John T Williammee III was born December+é-á14, 1933 and died January 26, 2016. He was born and raised in north central Pennsylvania and lived in Melbourne Beach for 38 years. John graduated from Penn State with a degree in electrical engineering in 1956 and Drexel University with an MBA in 1959. He founded Beacon Electronics, an electronic sales representative company, and Component Distributors Inc. He loved his family unconditionally, and friendships, both personal and business, were of great importance to John. He was an inspiration to many and his loyalty was unquestionable. John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking fourteeners, skiing, and fishing. Aside from his professional accomplishments, John will perhaps best be remembered for his dedication to organizing and coaching youth sports. John coached three generations of athletes in multiple sports, including football, softball, and soccer. He was instrumental in starting the first girls+óGé¼Gäó soccer team at Melbourne High School in 1987. That team went on to win the state championship its first year, due in large part to the foundation of coaching the girls received from John in youth soccer. A fierce competitor, John+óGé¼Gäós message to kids was to always to honor the team and never give up. Additionally, John shared his expertise as a volunteer at Florida Institute of Technology+óGé¼Gäós Entrepreneurial Program and Indian River Lagoon preservation efforts. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Van Dyke Williammee with whom he enjoyed a committed and loving relationship for 58 years. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Delbono; three children, John T Williammee+é-áIV,+é-á(Andrea), David Williammee+é-á(Susan), and Betsy Rees; his grandchildren, Sarah and Jason Williammee, Kyle and Kelsey Williammee, and Dylan Rees; step-grandchildren, Jonathan Keeler, Brittany and Brooke Northwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, John T Williammee+é-áII and Martha Williammee. John requested a party in his honor to be held at Sebastian Beach Inn (Coppola+óGé¼Gäós Bar and Grille) 7035 S.
