Obituary of Teresa Maidhof Baker

Long time Brevard resident and beautiful matriarch, Teresa Maidhof Baker, passed away peacefully and received her wings on the morning of August 4th with Family by her side. She succumbed after a valiant battle with cancer. +óGé¼+ôMom+óGé¼-¥ was born June 2, 1930, in Trois Riveres, Quebec, Canada. It delighted Mom that son Steven was born on her birthday. Mom and Dad (Robert L. Maidhof), were married in 1948 and moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1956 from New Jersey and opened the first Burger King franchise in the country, next to the Ice House on US1. They supported many charities and numerous local youth sports teams. Mom was a Pink Lady at Melbourne Hospital for many years (now Holmes Regional),in the 1960’s and was heavily involved as one of the stars of their Hospital Follies Fundraisers. Over the years our Family lived in Melbourne, Melbourne Beach and Satellite Beach. Teresa was a gentle, loving and wonderful Wife, Mother, mother- in- law, tender grandmother, proud great grandmother, generous friend, interior designer, an incredible chef, Real Estate Broker, French translator for NASA and a competitive team tennis player. We will miss her so very much. Her +óGé¼+ôLoving on her family and friends+óGé¼-¥, made her so very happy. Mom and Loving Husband of 37 years, Richard Baker, loved to travel. Their favorite city was Paris, visiting many European countries, San Francisco (a prior residence), and their children sometimes far away homes. Teresa is predeceased by first husband, Robert Maidhof, daughter Robin Maidhof Sorrentino, step-daughter Lauren Baker and dear friends Rietta and Jean. She is survived by her loving husband Richard Baker, children; Bob Maidhof (Debra), Steve Maidhof (Kim), Tina Maidhof Veil (Mark), Teri Lisa Maidhof Stagg (Jeff), stepsons Mark Baker (Karen) and Gregory Baker (Christine). Grandchildren; Erica, Bobby, Dane, Reed, Nate, Noelle, Luke, Harrison, Elizabeth, Elise, Grant, Spencer, William and Colin. Great Grandchildren; Lillia, Emmeline and Ember Lee. Lest we forget Mom+óGé¼Gäós Dear Friends; Margie, Nita, Suzanne, Roberta and Barbara, who shared many smiles, laughter and at times tears, and Casper the Cat who kept watch over Mom. The Maidhof/Baker Family would like to thank Hospice for their compassionate care. Services will be held at Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne, Florida, 321.724.2222 on Saturday, August 8th at 10:00am.. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the local No Kill Animal Shelter is appreciated
