Obituary of Gail Emig

Gail Emig, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, February 11, 2018. Gail was born in Lakewood Ohio on March 13, 1933. After graduating in 1955 from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics, she married Charles Emig and together they had four children while serving the Air Force for 20 years. During their time in the Air Force, they made Nebraska home in 1967. After the couple divorced in 1979, Gail continued to guide her children’s successful transition to adulthood. She worked in numerous career fields, including the moving industry, mortgage loan processing, and finally in the lunch room at Millard South HS, Millard, NE. Gail was a devout Christian. She was a faithful member of her church family, actively serving as a deacon, greeter and member of the Board of Managers. Gail was a loving and positive person who always saw the best in others, and was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She was also a keen sports fan, especially for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Colorado Avalanche hockey team! Her family includes her son Karl Emig and his wife Kristi, of Powell, OH; daughter Marianne Emig Carr and her husband Barry, of Toledo, Ontario, Canada; son Bruce Emig and his wife Kathy, of Melbourne, FL; son Kirk Emig and his wife Kris, of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren Ashlie, Amanda, Elizabeth, Patrick, Kyle, Peter, Shelby, Joshua, and Rachel; and great grandchildren Ellie, Sophie, Oliver, and Beau. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Lillian Fromer, brother Charles Fromer, and son-in-law Kevin Munro. A service in celebration of Gail’s life will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 1 PM at Pineda Presbyterian Church, 5650 N. Wickham Rd, Melbourne FL, 32940.
