Obituary of Michael Len Harris

Michael Len Harris, 62, Cocoa Beach, passed from this earth into the arms of his Heavenly Father on July 27, 2016. Mike was born in San Diego, California, the first born of Dwight and Joy Harris. The family later moved to Pensacola, Florida. While growing up in Pensacola, he was a member of the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and an integral part of the Choir and youth groups. He received his Bachelor+óGé¼Gäós degree at Stetson University and later his Master+óGé¼Gäós at Liberty University. Mike was first and foremost a servant of God, then a loving husband and stepfather, a stellar brother and a true friend to all that met him. His greatest gifts were his openness and his welcoming nature. In his younger days, he travelled extensively and hiked all over the country. As he matured, he found a passion for writing about his life, his experiences and how it was all connected to God+óGé¼Gäós will. He wrote and published several books. His daily activities in Cocoa Beach included playing tennis, golf and surfing, along with a walk on the beach. Mike was also a snow skier, skateboarder, and racquetball player. He was a dedicated member of the Salt and Light Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Melbourne. He lived his life with zest and full of love and sweetness and a smile for all around him. His bright smile, sense of humor and gentle spirit will be greatly missed. Mike is survived by his wife, Florence; stepson, Noah; and brother, Ron. Though he has left this earth he remains in the heart of all who knew him.A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 27, 11:00 am, First Baptist Church of Melbourne, 3301 Dairy Road, Melbourne, Florida 32901.
