Obituary of Ruby Lee Belvin

Ruby L. Belvin, 80, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 peacefully at Holmes Regional Medical Center. Ruby was born November 10, 1935 in St. Petersburg, Florida, daughter of Annie and Robert McGarrah. She attended and graduated in the class of 1952. Following high school, she met and fell in love with David A. Belvin. They married in 1955 and moved to Newark, New Jersey. Ruby was a homemaker and had three children before moving back to Florida in 1969. She and David were married for 32 years before he passed in October of 1987. She was a retired teacher at Immaculate Conception Preschool, which is now YMCA Preschool Academy, located in St. Petersburg, Florida. Ruby enjoyed reading her bible, watching her soap operas and western movies, and spending time with her family. She is lovingly remembered by her four children, Sharyn, Pamela, David, and Davena; brother Charles McGarrah; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruby was the most kind-hearted, wise, loving, caring, spiritual, courageous, and generous soul and will be dearly missed but never forgotten by all who knew and loved her.Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne, 321-724-2222.
