Obituary of Marie Martin Marie Martin

Marie A. “Toni” Martin, 90, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, May 15, 2017, with her family at her side. Born in LaSalle, IL, she moved to Miami Beach, FL in 1947 where she worked as a hotel Social Director teaching dance and entertaining people in the tourist capitol of the world. She moved her family to Merritt Island in 1963 and became an active participant with her husband in many community organizations. A loving and devoted stay at home mom gave Marie the needed time to raise her three children and take part in their lives. She volunteered her time to support the growth of Merritt Island by heading the Women’s Auxiliary at the MI Volunteer Fire Dept., leading the Merritt Island Little League women’s committee, assisting in the political campaigns of Senator Lori Wilson and Rep. Beth Johnson on several occasions and served as a Gray-Lady at the schools her children were attending. Marie then returned to work at the newly opened Merritt Square Mall and became a sales associate at Jordan Marsh. She quickly advanced into the credit department and then was promoted to Credit Manager. Her love for sales propelled her into the manufactured housing industry where she assisted hundreds of buyers acquire their dream homes in beautiful communities around the state. The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International honored Marie as a Paul Harris Fellow in 1988. Her caring spirit then drew her into the medical field where she worked as a CNA assisting those in need until she retired. A beloved and revered matriarch, Marie is survived by her three children, Tony Martin and wife Monica, Dino Martin and wife Robin and Donna Martin-Bolton and husband Derreck; grandchildren Brittany, Christine, Brenna and Cody; great grandchildren Hannah, Kate, Anthony and Samuel. A Life Celebration Service will be held on May 24, 2017, from 6pm to 8pm at Residence Inn Marriott, 8959 Astronaut Blvd. (A1A) Cape Canaveral, FL 32920 in the Key West Room. Marie was born March 2, 1951 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Sherman and Sarah (Hutchinson) Bryant. Her family includes her husband of 34 years, Scott; son Christopher Martin; daughters Heather Martin-Ramos and Stacey Martin; granddaughter Olivia Decoteau; brothers Gene Bryant and David Bryant and sisters Rebecca Thames, Rosemary Wigmore and Debra Hunnings.Viewing will be on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne. A funeral service follows the viewing at 3:00 PM.
