Obituary of Janet Ruth Fussell

Janet Ruth Fussell passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 25, 2016.  God saw she was tired and ready to quit, so he took her home. She was born on February 20, 1940, to Emma Ruth (Knott) and Charlie Bell Fussell in Manhattan, Kansas.  Janet was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Charles Fussell. Janet started working very early in life, digging up and selling fishing worms for a penny each.  When she got 15 pennies, she would go buy her beloved Granny a hanky.  She continued this work ethic her entire life. She worked in retail sales and stocking, and eventually moved to northern California with her dearest friend, Velma Lee.  In 1983, they purchased three Chem-Dry franchises, and did so well that they won the Chem-Dry of the year over 3000 other franchises. They retired to Florida so she and the ocean could become best buddies when it came to fishing.  However, she just missed working so there went the fishing project.  She was employed at West Melbourne Wal-Mart at the time of her death. Janet is survived by a brother, Terry Fussell and Barbara and their family,  Jennifer Verrett and family, Scott Fussell and family, Rebecca Turman and family, Jason Fussell, Stephen Fussell, and Terry Fussell Jr. and their families. She is also survived by her dear friend Velma Lee and her family of nieces and nephews: Tamara Neal; John and Ashley and sons John 3 and Jacob Neal; Kimberly and Don Hesketh and daughters Alyssa, Kaitlyn, and Shannon and daughters Ryan and Alexa; Jeffery Lee and Nancy and sons Zach, Gage, and Todd and daughter Mariana; and John and Margaret Lee. Janet also leaves behind her loving sleeping side kick, Patches the cat.  She leaves many friends behind, especially Micki and Del, and Mimi, and a special Walmart family.  Many co workers and family will remember her strong and loving spirit and her very generous heart.  She would do anything for anyone in need . A celabration of her life will be held on her birthday, February 20th, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne. Please come and say happy birthday to her in Heaven.
