Obituary of Janice Maria Bethune

Janice Bethune It is with great sadness that the family of Janice Bethune announces her passing on March 17, 2018 at the age of 62 years. Janice will be forever remembered by her mother, Ethel Cook, her brother Albert Barnes and his wife Beverly, sisters Patricia Lane, Barbara Cochran, Mary Scottie, her brother Clay Cook and his wife Sherrie, and sisters Sue Cook and Gail Lagges.  She will also be lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews Theodore and Kelly Mitchell, Mike Scottie, Michelle Gunning and her husband Stephen, Jake and Albert Barnes, Jodi Waters and her husband Alonzo, Melissa and Thomas Cochran, Elizabeth and Ashley Cook, and extended family Steven Hoffman, Jeremy Finder, and very dear friend Dave.  Janice will also be forever remembered by her numerous great nieces, nephews and dear friends and family.  Janice was predeceased by her long-time partner Larry Gulino and her father, Lynn Barnes. She was born January 14, 1956 in Japan into a military family, mother Ethel Cook and father Lynn Barnes. Janice was the greatest daughter and sister a family could ask for, as well as a true friend to many, always smiling and laughing with such a positive attitude.  She has filled our hearts with so much love and laughter. Janice had so much love in her heart to give that she even touched the hearts of strangers with her compassion, kindness and sense of humor. Her love of family brought her into the kitchen as she cooked wonderful meals as a labor of love.  She always brought the family together, making such dishes as chicken and dumplings from scratch, a lot of work and love put into every meal. She is missed in the morning as she would come around the corner to get her coffee and say with a smile, “Good morning woman.”  Or as we would enter the house, after a long day at work, she would always be sure to ask “How was your day?” But, now she has left us with so much sadness and heartbreak.  She will live in our hearts forever.  And when we miss her, all we will have to do is look into our heart and she will be there smiling back at us. R.I.P. A funeral service in memory of Janice will be held for family and close friends on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care located at 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, FL 32907.  Prior to the service will be a viewing from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and immediately following the service she will be laid to rest at Fountainhead Memorial Park in Palm Bay.
