Obituary of John L. Cole

It is with heavy heart that the family of John L. Cole of Palm Bay announces his passing on March 24, 2016. Jack, 91 years young, was predeceased by two wives, Isabelle Cole and Barbara Cole, his parents Lester and Anne Cole, his brother Frank and two sisters, Doris and Rita. He leaves behind a son, Daniel L. Cole, daughter in-law, Gayle W Cole and two grandchildren, Jaclyn and Daniel. Born in Boston, Jack, the son of a shrewd business man, followed in his father’s footsteps, as a salesman of legendary prowess and then an entrepreneur in the auto parts business founding Cole Auto Supply in 1972 in Schenectady, New York. Jack served his country during the Second World War with the Merchant Marines. Never at a loss for words, Jack was a man of wicked wit.+é-á His one-line remarks will be repeated for decades by his grandchildren. Jack enjoyed many hobbies.+é-á He was a boater, motorcyclist, scratch golfer.+é-á He enjoyed the company of friends and was an active member of the American Legion, Moose, AmVets, Elks, Moose, Eagles and Orioles.+é-á He was also a very generous man and made many gifts to these organizations and others especially those helping our Wounded Warrior. There will be no services. There will, however, be two Celebrations of Life. The first will be on Sunday, April 10 from 1 to 3 PM at the American Legion Post 117 , 189 Veterans Way, Palm Bay. The second will take place on Sunday, April 16 from 1 to 3 PM at the Palm Bay Moose Lodge 2311, 1335 Malabar Rd., Palm Bay. Club brothers and sisters and all friends are cordially invited to attend both celebrations, as Jack wanted two great parties!
