Obituary of Delbert “Del” T. Foster

Delbert T. (Del) Foster, 77, passed away June 6, 2016 after an extended battle with congestive heart failure. He was born November 8, 1938 in Detroit, MI. He lived with his mother and two brothers near Gainesville, GA from 1941 until 1956 and graduated from Miami Edison Senior High School, Class of 1957. In 1960, he moved to Cocoa Beach, working for a quality testing laboratory and then went to KSC working for Apollo contractors Rockwell and Grumman Aerospace, spending three years in Iran with Grumman on the F-14 program, returning to Titusville in 1978. From 1979 until 1995 he worked with McDonnell Douglas as a quality engineer for space shuttle payload operations; then for 12 years as quality manager for the USAF launch operations contract. A graduate of Brevard Community College and Nova Southeast University, for the past 20 years he has been a consultant, trainer, and auditor of quality management systems for a wide range of companies seeking registration to ISO 9001 standards throughout the US, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Del is survived by his loving and devoted wife Zenaida (Aida) Foster of Titusville and son Charles D. (Chuck) Foster of Cocoa Beach. He was preceded in death by his sons Mark and Scot.
