Sharon W. Adams

Obituary of Sharon W. Adams

Sharon Adams was one complicated, saucy lady with a great sense of humor and capacity for joy. Fiercely independent, she left this earth on March 19th, 2024, as she saw fit in the care of her eldest son, Brian Saltzman, and daughter-in-law, Robin Saltzman, in Palm Bay, Florida, with visits, hugs, laughter, and tears from her extended family, including her children David and Teri Saltzman and Wendy Adams.

Born on December 29th, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the eldest child of Walter and Mary Jane Clot. Sharon grew up exploring the lush tropical landscape of South Miami, Florida, with her younger brothers Terry, Dennis, and Kirby Clot. In a midlife act of self-actualization, she moved to her beloved South Austin in the early 80s. She returned to Florida in the late 90s to be closer to her grandchildren Kiane and Chloe King, Summer Johnson, Justin, Ryan, Aaron Mikal, and Christopher Saltzman.

Coming of age during the 60s, Sharon was a humanist, idealist, and free spirit who dedicated herself to lifting others up in her chosen roles as a licensed medical social worker, all-around liberal rabble-rouser, and supporter of anyone givin' it to the man for a just cause. She was a lover of cats, a believer in science, an appreciator of good eats, and a giver of great hugs. Like all Clots she was also a master storyteller and grower of magnificent plants. She crafted funky pottery, shabby chic interior designs, whimsical stuffed animals, and vibrant quilts for herself and her family – she was an artist who could transform anything, from the banal to the down-right ugly, into something beautiful and uniquely Sharon Adams.

Private memorial services will be held in Palm Bay, FL, and Austin, TX that will be creative and beautiful, just like Sharon. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Tampa Crusaders Feral Cat Program.
