Lois A. Catley

Obituary of Lois A. Catley

Lois A. Catley of Malabar, Florida was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, on March 17, 2023, at the age of 85 years.

Lois was born on March 22, 1937, in Steubenville, Ohio. She was raised and lived in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, most of her life.  She graduated from Duquesne University and was on the Dean's List. She met and married, Howard E. Catley, the love of her life. Together they raised five children in their loving home at 121 King St., Aliquippa, PA. She was an exceptional mother and Christian. Her love, life lessons, and strong faith in The Lord made a lasting, positive impact on every family member, including extended family members, as well as her friends.

Lois was an active member at Wildwood Chapel, Aliquippa, PA, and Centerpoint Community Church, Monaca, PA for the past 50 years. She received great joy by serving the Lord, volunteering at the church, hosting Women's Bible Studies at her home, teaching her Sunday School children, and caring for her church family's needs. She was also a Boy Scouts of America Den Mother, an animal rescuer, and is well known for providing assistance, visits, and delicious meals to many who were in need of nurturing and love.

Lois enjoyed her years of employment at various jobs in the community although caring for her family was the focus of her life. She was a fabulous cook, confidante, and encourager.

Our beloved Lois was the heart of her family. She was a dedicated mother, sister, daughter, wife, grandmother, and friend to all. She treated others with kindness and respect. She continues to be loved by many and serves as an incredible example of kindness and strength. May we hold close our love for Lois through cherished memories so that her beautiful life is one of celebration.

Lois was blessed with great joy the past few years as she lived in beautiful sunny Florida with her daughter Joyce, her twin sister Beverly, and her little poodle Rosie. Although Lois worked outside of the home, her true calling and dedication was to lovingly care for her family as a wife and mother.

Lois was preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard E. Catley; her parents, Edward and Eleanor Aaron and brother-in-law, Donald Leyman. She is survived by her twin sister, Beverly Leyman; her children, Cindy Caputo and husband, Richard Caputo, Dan Catley, Jeffrey Catley and wife, Anita Catley, Delores Catley, Joyce Catley and son-in-law Robert Cox, grandchildren Christopher Branchetti, Christina Caputo, Julie Caputo, Mike Caputo, Danna Murphy, Dan Snyder, Sean Catley, Ryan Catley, Kelly Brown, John Brown, Ashley Puhlman, Alex Ladakos and wife, Melissa, Demetrius Ladakos and wife, Brittney, Wyatt Cox, Whitney Yount, and husband Richard Yount; and many great-grandchildren.
