Obituary of Gisele Dube Labbe

Gisele Dube Labbe passed peacefully on March 9, 2023, after happily celebrating her 100th birthday with family and friends two weeks before. She was born in Canada and became a naturalized U.S. citizen after marrying the love of her life, Al Labbe. Gisele worked as a secretary prior to marrying and then became a busy homemaker in Van Buren, Maine, raising their six children.

Gisele and Al’s home was a place of fun and laughter for family and friends, who were always welcome to drop by unannounced. She loved to play bridge and became a Master bridge player. If there was a card game, Gisele was there. She was also on a curling team. Gisele had a contagious smile and enjoyed the company of everyone.

After Al passed away, Gisele moved to Florida. She lived with her daughter Yvette and husband Bob for many years, where she played with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and watched them grow up.

Gisele was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lumina Dube; her son, Robert; her grandson Matthew; and six of her siblings. She is survived by her brother Raymond (Nancy), and five of her children: Yvette Marcan (Robert), Melbourne, FL; Roger (Anne), Lisbon Falls, Maine; Peter (Terri), Ponte Vedra, FL; Joanne, Park City Utah; and Lorraine, Lisbon Falls, Maine.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Eric Labbe (Angie), Jeffrey Marcan, Patrick Marcan (Jennifer), Simone and Blake Willett, Ashley Seroyer(Shad), Lauren and Alec Labbe; and ten great-grandchildren: Drew and Madison Labbe, Brandon Medeiros, Bradley Marcan, Tate Seroyer, Callie Marcan, Hunter Marcan, Layla Labbe, Emory Labbe, Wyatt Smith

Mass will be said at St John Evangelist Catholic Church in Viera on March 31st at 11 am.
