Obituary of Kathleen Marie Jenkins Hollis

Kathleen Marie Jenkins Hollis, age 55, passed away on December 22, 2022. She was born on October 11, 1967 in Orlando, Florida. 

Kathie described herself as a stubbornly independent, a survivor, and a warrior for those who are broken.

She thrived when she was with friends and family. Her two son, David and Michael, daughter-in-law Meagan, and especially her granddaughter were the sunshine in her life.

Although she considered herself an introvert, her winsome approach to life brought her many friends.

Kathie worked 13 years as a dispatcher in emergency services. During that time, she also worked as a volunteer at a pregnancy center in Kissimmee, Florida.

Later, she worked for SAFE, a domestic violence agency in Blairsville, Georgia. Her work in domestic violence led her to a position as a child welfare investigator in Alaska. She worked with abuse survivors for a total of 14 years.

Through her heartbreaking experiences and the gracious, emotional and spiritual healing of God, she developed the desire to use her scars to bring healing to others. 

In spite of her failing health, she continued to strive to bring healing to others through her fledgling non-profit company Handcrafted Hearts.

To the very end of her life, she was driven to help others.
