Sandra Jean Staggenborg

Obituary of Sandra Jean Staggenborg

On January 3, 2023, Sandra Jean Staggenborg went home to Heaven. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Sandi lived her life giving of herself to all she loved.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia on March 9, 1940, to Edgar LeSuer and Violet Crawford, Sandi was the oldest sibling to her twin brother, Barry LeSuer, by 1 minute.

Sandi grew up in Miami, where she met her husband Robert (Bob). Together they shared 63 years of wedded bliss. Sandi was a homemaker, where she truly shined. In 1978, they relocated to W. Melbourne and then retired to Ft White in 1989. They enjoyed their retired years together and eventually decided to move closer to their family in 2009.

Sandi loved all things nature. She enjoyed being outside, plants, and animals. Sandi enjoyed gardening with her husband, creating poetry for her family, and thrifting with her daughters. She could often be found in her craft room. Sandi spent much of her time giving to others - sewing homemade dolls, teddy bear ornaments, quilts and more for her family, as well as children who were sick in her local hospital. These beloved items will be passed down for generations.

Sandi was also famously known for her baked goods - snickerdoodle & chocolate chip cookies, key lime pie and pumpkin pie - where the last slice was fought over at every holiday.

Sandi shared her love for Jesus with her family, and read her Bible daily. Sandi was a gentle word, a soft touch, and a kind heart. She inspired those around her with her peaceful presence and patient and thoughtful nature.

Sandi is survived by her husband, Robert, and her three children: daughter Deborah Jellison (Chris), son Jerome Staggenborg (Lorraine), and daughter Roberta Thorne (Luke). Her grandchildren: Chad Jellison (Amber), Jason Jellison (Brianna), Natalie Whiting (Adrean), Robin Thorne (Michael), Rachelle Staggenborg and Amber Thorne. Her great-grandchildren: Madilyn, Brody, Brynlie, Reese, Ryder, Emmalyn and Ansley.

Sandi is predeceased by her parents, her twin brother, her grandson Jerry Staggenborg, and her great granddaughter Paisleigh Thomas.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care, 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay.
