Obituary of Dr. Megan Taylor Grace

We are heartbroken at the sudden and unexpected loss of our sweet Megan. A short life lived, there are not enough words to express the impact her life has had on friends and family.

Beloved daughter, granddaughter, girlfriend, niece, cousin, and friend Megan Taylor Grace passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.  She was 26 years old. Megan was born April 30, 1996, in Melbourne, Florida, and was raised in Palm Bay, Florida by her loving parents Shauna Grace and Stan McDavid.

Megan, a registered Occupational Therapist was so incredibly loved by all.  She was an established young woman who in her short life had already achieved so much. We want to share all these incredible accomplishments with you.

Megan was a graduate of Bayside High School in Palm Bay, Florida. She was part of swimming team, and performed for the Show Choir, Thespian Society, Theater, and Rotary Club. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, and the Future Teacher Association. She was also the President of the Student Government Association and the Founder and President of the Interact Club.

She graduated from Bayside High School in 2014 with her Associates Degree from Eastern Florida State College.

Megan went on to attend the University of Florida where she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a minor in Nutritional Sciences in 2017. During this time, Megan volunteered at Shands Dental Clinic. She was a member of the American Student Dental Association’s District 5 pre-dental committee, Member of the American Student Dental Association at the University of Florida, Pre-dental society at the University of Florida, Impressions Program Scholar, and University of Louisville Summer Medical and Dental Program Scholar.

By now you know Megan didn’t stop there. Because of her incredible drive and hard work Megan went on to earn her Master’s Degree in 2020 and her Post-Professional Doctorate of Occupational Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2021.

As an Occupational Therapist, Megan worked at The Hale Hand Center, Encompass Health Treasure Coast, and recently began her new journey at Vero Orthopaedics. She also went on to become a contributing faculty member for Applied Anatomy at The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences where she had the opportunity to teach and share her love of helping others through therapy.

Megan was so incredibly passionate about her career and helping others, but she was even more passionate about spending time with her family, her boyfriend, her friends, and her two little fur babies Lily and Nala. She always made time for everyone. She looked forward to spending time on her dad’s boat going on scalloping adventures. She loved to participate in any event she could sign up for with her family and friends.  If there was a 5k run, she was there and somehow if you were not a runner, she would convince you to join! If there was paint and brushes, she was painting and everyone would be painting too! If there was a celebration of any kind, she will be there celebrating with you. Megan lived by one thing: Spend money on experiences; creating memories to look back on. “You will always remember that trip you took not the things you bought.”

Anyone who crossed paths with Megan would tell you what an incredible and humble person she was. Her love transformed the lives of everyone she encountered. She truly brought an abundant of beauty to everything she did. She had such a special ability to connect with people, share herself and evoke that same spirit of love in each person she knew. She had the kindest heart and the most beautiful and contagious smile that would light up your soul. She was loving, caring, and boy was she brilliant. She loved to travel and lived life to the fullest. She was the kind of person you wanted to hold onto forever.

Megan loved to give. Even after her passing she fulfilled her wish to be an organ donor.  She gave life… many of Megan’s organs and tissue were donated and many lives were saved.

When we think of Megan, we think of this Bible verse:

1 Corinthians 16:14 “Let all that you do be done in love”.

This is how Megan lived every moment of every day. Her thoughts, feelings, and actions day after day all done with Godly love towards everyone she met.

We leave you with this:

Live every moment like Megan did, laugh every day like Megan did and Love beyond words like Megan did. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Until we meet again baby girl.

Megan will be sorely missed by her loving parents Luciana (Shauna) Grace and Stan McDavid, sisters & brothers, Stephanie McDavid Reyes, Brad McDavid, Jeremy & Jacob Hamblin, grandparents Linda and Jim Reynolds, Aunts & Uncles Carl & Robbyn (Grace) Russell, Jennifer (Grace) Gibbs, Kevin, and Julie McDavid, Rob and Suzanne (McDavid) Pendleton, Robert Todd (Susan) Kelly, Partner Joshua Ford, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces, her fur babies, Lily and Nala and all of her friends.
