Obituary of Ruth Ann Rupe

Ruth Ann Rupe, beloved wife and mother, passed away October 21, 2022 after a long illness in Palm Bay, FL. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Richard Jay Rupe, her daughters, AnnMarie Yrigoyen (Vero Beach, FL) & Kelly Ann Carden (Palm Bay, FL), and sons-in-law, Alvaro Yrigoyen & Christopher Carden. She also leaves behind a granddaughter, Sarah Ann Storey, Sarah’s Fiance’, Dalton Logan Clary, and a great-grandson, Dayton Samuel Clary (Austin, TX).

Our beautiful, selfless wife/mother/grandmother will be missed more than any words can convey. Everyday, she put her family first.

Born January 19, 1947, to Arlington Wayne Shuey & Martha Mary Shuey in Tiffin, OH, she moved to Melbourne, FL as a child. It was at Melbourne High School that she met the love of her life, her soulmate, her best friend. They married in 1966. She was the Histology Supervisor at Cape Canaveral Hospital for almost 30 years. She was an accomplished cook who delighted us all of our lives with her amazing meals. She made having a prestigious career while caring for her family look easy, providing a wonderful example to her daughters.

Ruth Ann, throughout her lifetime, had many interests. In addition to being a world class home cook, she read voraciously, collected cookbooks, cultivated African violets, did needle arts, and traveled extensively. She loved many cats in her lifetime: a Siamese given to her on her 16th birthday by her future husband, 4 British Shorthairs, and 2 Tonkinese, just to name her favorites.
