Obituary of Rosemary Ann Vevera Rourk

Rosemary Ann Vevera Rourk passed away from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease on August 31, 2022 at her home in Melbourne, FL at age 88.  

 

Rosemary was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Orlando, FL when she was 4 years old. She attended St. James Catholic High School in Orlando, FL where she met her future husband of 64 years, John W. Rourk, Jr.  She trained in nursing at St Vincent’s Hospital Training School for Nurses, Jacksonville, FL after high school and then moved back to Orlando.  

 

She is survived by her husband, her five children Cindi (Phil), Chris (Therese), Michael (Cheri), Patrick, and Jennifer (Carter), 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  She is also survived by two sisters Charlotte and Margaret and many nieces and nephews.  

 

Rosemary loved being a mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and it showed in all she did.  She loved to sew, cook, and read.  She was a loving and sacrificing mother. She was a docent at the Orlando Art Museum and a member of the Council of 101.  She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Melbourne, FL and served in Perpetual Adoration for many years.  

 

A celebration of her life will take place on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 3050 North Highway A1A, Indialantic, FL.
