William Mitchell "Bill" McLellan

Obituary of William Mitchell "Bill" McLellan

William Mitchell “Bill” McLellan, 72, received his eternal reward on July 1, 2022 as he entered heavens gate hearing the words “well done thy good and faithful servant”.

Billy was born in Grandin Florida and grew up in nearby Florahome before the family moved to DeLand FL. Billy attended George W. Marks Elementary (where he first met his beloved Jackie), DeLand Jr. High School and was a proud graduate of Deland Sr. High School. He went on to earn dual degrees in Sociology and Criminology from Anderson University in Anderson Indiana. He was a volunteer for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Billy also volunteered for many years with Lynx Ministry (Christians in Action) where he drove, cooked and was the devotional leader leading many to Christ.

Billy lived in many Florida locations including but not limited to Lake Wales, Titusville, West Palm Beach, Palm Bay, Malabar, as well as out of state in Lima Ohio and Anderson Indiana. In these locations, he served in different capacities from associate pastor, youth pastor, and was a lifelong servant of assisting others in need. Billy always donated his time, volunteering wherever he was, to whatever organization needed his help. Billy had a servant’s heart and this is his legacy that he will be remembered for. Billy was the Director of Volunteer Services at Holmes Regional Hospital in Melbourne FL for many years. Billy also enjoyed teaching motorcycle riding lessons at Harley Davidson as well as an instructor for the Florida Safety Council.

Billy was an active member of Vero Bible Fellowship where he served as an Elder Pastor.

Billy accomplished one of his lifelong dreams of riding “Tail of The Dragon” last year in North Carolina with his “Suga” by his side. He was extremely proud of his three sons, Kyle, Bryan and Josh. He loved to tell anyone that would listen how proud he was of their accomplishments in life and he never missed an opportunity to tell them how much he loved them.

Billy always had a heart for giving to others. He was extremely outgoing, loved to laugh, loved Jesus, loved people and he loved Life. Everyone would know when Billy entered a room (whether you knew him or not) as he always brought excitement, laughter and fun wherever he went. Billy will be remembered by many for the volunteer services he provided in numerous locations doing whatever job needed to be done.

Billy was preceded in death by his father, James Edward McLellan Sr., Mother, Myra Bundy McLellan and Brother, James Edward McLellan Jr. He is survived by his wife Jackie McLellan, sons Kyle, Bryan (Pam), and Josh, 2 stepsons Greg (Stacey) and Wayne, Sister Myra Ann Raulerson (Jim), Brothers Ronnie (Susie), Doug (Sandy), Marty (Connie) as well as 3 grandkids and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Billy’s Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at 1:30. The location will be at Storm Grove Middle School 6400 57th Street in Vero Beach, FL as this is where Vero Bible Fellowship meets for their church services. The service will be led by Pastor Greg Sempstrott. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to “Vero Bible Fellowship” at 9035 Americana Rd. Suite 10, Vero Beach, Florida 32966 Memo: Bill McLellan.
