Obituary of Antonio Varela

Antonio (Tony) Varela, age 97, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on November 28, 2021.

Tony was born in Havana, Cuba on February 23, 1924. He married his beloved wife Elia Fernandez and celebrated 72 years of marriage prior to his passing. They had two beautiful children, Antonio Varela Jr. and Magaly Blanca.

In 1962, Tony and his family moved to Miami, FL, to leave the communism under Fidel Castro in Cuba. Tony was always grateful for his freedom and the opportunities that he had in America. Tony worked as an Accountant until his retirement in 1990.

Survivors include his wife, Elia Varela; grandchildren Christina Townshend, her husband Peder Townshend, Tony Blanca, his wife Melissa Rosenson-Blanca and John (Johnny) Blanca, his wife Michele Blanca and great-grandchildren, Peder Jr. Townshend, Matthew Townshend, and Ana Townshend.
