Obituary of Peter J. Smith

Peter J. Smith Melbourne, Orlando, FL. Retired from the city of Orlando, former maintenance worker of Powers Drive Baptist Church, entered the arms of His Father God on September 6th, 2021, at 80 years of age.

Peter was born on 6/15/1941 to William Arnold and Dorothy Smith.

His Dad(Arnold) died when he was 12, and he quit school at age 17, worked hard to provide and care for his Mom and 2 siblings by farming on another man’s farm before going with the horses.

He used to sneak Katie out dancing with him and their cousin Edna (Aunt Lori rumble seat’s daughter). He called her Katie-did and always tried to make her laugh. She was cared for by our Great-Grandfather Creed until he died. They lived in a little shack on his property that had a dirt floor and bullet holes in it from his Dad (Arnold) getting shot at for gambling. They then moved to Arnold’s Creek into the city of West Union, WV.

After years of his experience in farming, he was then offered a job working with and training horses in Orlando, Fl. and that is where he met his love, Lenora.

Peter J. Smith was married for 48 years on 7/15/2021 to the love of his life.

He shared a love of horses, family, and God, which that legacy will be carried out through his loved ones. Peter J. Smith is survived by his wife Rosa Lenora, daughters Pamela Smith, Lisa (David)Baj, And Crystal(Joseph) Reyes. His Grandkids -Kayla Kirby, Matthew Speicher, Jerry Mendez, Anthony Mendez, Gabriella Anderson, Britney Baj, Jessalyn Baj, Elijah Baj, Isabella Reyes, Nathaneal Reyes, Joseph Reyes (Jr). Great grandkids-Adriana Hernandez, Rene Hernandez (Jr). Nieces and nephews-Shirley(Mark)Holder, Danny (Lisa) Smith Jr., Kimberly Smith, Jason(Lefaun)Gilman. Great nieces and nephews-Lisa Holder, Luke Holder, David Smith, Cessily Smith, Brittany(Jordan) Padilla, Walker Gilman, Sawyer Gilman. Great Great niece and nephew-Geovanny and Savannah Padilla.

The services will be held in celebration of his life on the following date and locations: Friday, September 24, 2021, Viewing-10:00am Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care 950 Malabar Road SE, Florida. Celebration Of Life Service-11:00am 950 Malabar Road SE, Florida. Graveside Service and Burial-3:00pm Chapel Hill Cemetery 2420 Harrell Rd, Orlando, FL 32817
