Denise May Faucher

Obituary of Denise May Faucher

DENISE MAY FAUCHER, age 65, of West Melbourne FL, passed suddenly from this life on Tuesday, August 10, following a brief illness. In her last days, Denise was surrounded with a blanket of love and prayer offered by her family and friends from near and far. Denise was a tiny human powerhouse with amazing gifts of joy, creativity, childlike delight in God's creation (especially the beach!), and a selfless love for all who crossed her path. Her greatest happiness in life was God's gift of children and grandchildren, upon whom she lavished her time, energy and prayer. Her children were always in her heart and mind. Nothing made her happier than to have her children and grandchildren around her table sharing wonderful homecooked meals, celebrating family milestones and doing fun activities together. Denise made friends quickly and held each one close to her heart, year in and year out. A lifelong artist, she shared her talents in a thousand ways, creating beauty out of simple things (most recently, making dozens of incredible and whimsical wreaths for friends to mark each holiday or turn of the season). Denise's mind was a treasure trove of helpful hints and creative ideas; in the words of a friend, she was a one-woman Pinterest! She thrived on the challenge of stretching a dollar for her kids, through coupons, yard sales, and shopping the clearance aisle. Denise's home and gardens were always serene works of art in themselves, spotless, organized, and peaceful - with each nook and cranny carefully appointed in pleasing details. Denise was a collector, of plants, teacups, seashells, cookbooks, inspirational verses, craft projects, and especially of the human souls whom God brought into her life - all those friends, relatives, kids' friends, teachers, parishioners, coworkers and even casual acquaintances who always left her presence a little happier. Though she endured times of heart-wrenching trauma and all manner of physical and emotional pain in this life, Denise kept close to her Lord Jesus and offered each trial up in fierce intercession for her precious loved ones until the day of her death.

Denise was born to Andre' Leon Faucher and Jane Marie Phillips Faucher on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1956 in Wilmington, DE. When the family relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Denise attended Mary, Queen of Martyrs School for 8 years, and graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas HS in 1974. Denise lived for some years in Buffalo NY, and then in Little Rock AR, before settling in the Melbourne area for the last two decades. Early on, she taught gymnastics and operated her own cleaning business. Later, her talents for organizing, problem-solving, management and customer relations were much needed in various positions with GSI Commerce, Hallmark Cards, and CVS Stores. Denise was a devout Catholic throughout her life, with a deep faith, active prayer life and years of service in her parish, Our Lady of Lourdes in Melbourne. She volunteered in the CRHP retreat program, and led a knitting/Rosary group in her home for many years.

Denise was preceded in death by her mother Jane "Bingy" Bingel, her stepfather Robert "Big Dad" Bingel, her stepmother Jean "Mama Bear" Faucher, and by her beloved siblings David Faucher and Darlene Faucher Kosmoski. She leaves to cherish her memory her father Andre' "Papa Bear" Faucher of Melbourne, her brother Douglas Faucher (Elizabeth) of Tequesta FL, and her six children, Brieanne Elizabeth Burks Brown (Kevin) of Enid OK, Courtney Allen Burks (Esperanza) of Coral Springs FL, Brittany-Jayne Faucher of Melbourne, Bethanie Rose Faucher Moore (Bryon) of Melbourne, Caemeron Jon Bitzer (Leanna) of Dallas TX, and Bonneigh May Bitzer of Sheridan AR. Denise's grandchildren who will be missing their beloved Mamay are Lyla, Dalton and Ally Brown, Gavin and Oliver Burks, Charlee-Jayne Englert, and Peyton and Maggie Moore. In addition, Denise will be deeply missed by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, other extended family, classmates, prayer partners and all her precious friends.

Denise's family and friends would have deeply cherished many more years with her, and the opportunity for sharing her wonderful cooking, earnest late-night conversations, raucous family celebrations and anticipated travel outings. Yet the loving hand of God is evident even in our sorrow, as we give thanks for His creation of such a wonderful person that He placed with us for a time. We release her into the steadfast care of Our Lord, Whom she loved so much in this life, and will try to incorporate a measure of Denise's joy, faith and unshakable peace into our lives until we all meet again.
